Prison Ministry

We are always welcoming and training new ministry leaders. Please click HERE to update us on your current ministry activities. 
 

We now have an order form to receive supplies for your ministry. Please fill out the application and we will send the supplies to either your parish or the prison you minister at. Thank you for all you do. If you have any questions, please email [email protected] or call at 850-435-3532.

We have a variety of supplies available for Prison Ministries in our Diocese. 

• English and Spanish Bibles
• English and Spanish Prayer Books
• Black Breakaway Rosaries approved for Prison Ministries
• RCIA Materials including The Invitation, a Catholic Learning Guide for Adults
• When We Visit Jesus in Prison, a Diocese approved guide for providing Prison Ministry

Re-Entry services are a crucial part of prison ministry. Joseph House is a nonprofit ministry of the Catholic Diocese of Pensacola-Tallahassee. Joseph House offers a range of services for accompanying our brothers and sisters leaving prison.  We seek to support their complete restoration into our communities and neighborhoods.

We are proud members of the Catholic Prison Ministry Coalition; Bishop William Wack serves as moderator and spiritual guide to this coalition. 
 

The Catholic Prison Ministries Coalition is the central hub for all Catholic jail, prison, and detention ministry efforts in the United States. We offer:

• Educational webinars and a database of organizations and resources;
• Prison ministry formation opportunities for dioceses and Catholic organizations;
• Support of ministries serving victims, the incarcerated, those who work and minister in these contexts, and their families;
• A professional development pathway for the next generation of jail and prison ministers and change agents. 

Detention  Facilities within the Diocese of Pensacola-Tallahassee:

The following list contains detailed information about the detention facilities throughout the diocese that are serviced by Catholic Prison Ministry Volunteers. Prison Ministry is an extension of each parish, and services vary according to the resources and availability of volunteers.  If you currently serve in a prison not assigned to your parish, please let us know so we can communicate accordingly.   
 
  Prisons in bold are in dire need of volunteers to support priests in bringing the Eucharist to our brothers and sisters.  Please contact our office to let us know if you can help. To help bring the Eucharist to prison, you must be a Eucharistic minister and have the approval of your priest.
