Ensuring a Safe Environment for Children and Young People
The Diocese of Pensacola-Tallahassee works to protect the safety and well-being of children and young people in a number of ways.
One of these ways is through a series of programs that help create and maintain safe environments within our churches, schools and activities.
The documents listed below explain these programs and the safeguards that are in place to help make sure that all children and young people may enjoy nurturing, faith-filled experiences whenever they participate in the Church.
Safe Environment Catechesis: the principles that explain why we work to ensure a safe environment, and what we teach in regard to this.
Bishop Ricard's Letter of Promulgation: the mandate that all children and youth will be taught the curriculum for safe environment, so that they might have the necessary information to protect themselves from abuse.
Bishop's Charter Requirements (English): a brochure explaining the diocesan policies regarding the Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People within our diocese.
